All wood and paints of this piece are original. This is an entire poster sized wood engraving, used to print a red background for a theater or music act poster. It would have been overprinted with pictures or information in the plain, non red inked areas. I added a series of old cube headed bolts from an old Buffalo factory (c. 1900). The theme here is to make art by enhancing the beauty of the old elements. I use simple materials and low-tech methods to let the found dynamic of these "things that make things" shine through. Color, angles, geometry, aged surfaces - all these things balance and enhance each other. Such beauty in the things we discard!
