Way Down Yonder All materials in this piece are original. The title of this piece refers to the song by Woody Guthrie, "Oklahoma Hills". This art mirror is my version of Frank Lloyd Wright's mural in his Oklahoma skyscraper, the Price Towers (Bartlesville, OK) done in copper, brass, and polychrome. I used old wood from restaurant dish shelves and ping-pong table tops, but I faithfully kept to Wright's themes of stylized clouds, sun and moon, and the chevrons depicting trees (very much like a lot of his stained glass). |
