All wood and paints of this piece are original. A fine mahogany box with brass screw construction is reconfigured to form a box where antique birds, a Christmas ornament c. 1900, swing in a background of 1840's papers. These old elements and the rich brass and wood form a little environment suggesting beauty and nostalgia with a simple ensemble.
